"At Bumblebees, we value the wonder of childhood and the power of a child-centered learning approach."
Our Curriculum
Our curriculum is thoughtfully shaped around each child’s unique needs, interests, and stage of development, with a strong focus on Understanding the World. We create a nurturing environment where children can explore their surroundings, ask questions, notice changes, and build meaningful connections with people, places, and nature. Our dedicated educators support curiosity, creativity, and a genuine love of learning, helping children make sense of the world in hands‑on, joyful ways. Every day is an exciting adventure, with your child at the centre — sparking wonder, encouraging exploration, and laying the foundations for a lifetime of happy learning.
Education and Growth
We carefully document every child’s developmental journey, celebrating their strengths, tracking their progress, and identifying any areas where extra support may be helpful.
Our practitioners use a secure online platform to record each child’s learning. Photos and written observations can be uploaded quickly, allowing us to capture special moments throughout the day. Parents can view their child’s records at any time and contribute their own observations from home, helping us build a complete picture of each child’s development.
At Bumblebee, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) when creating activities for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. This comprehensive practice guide is organised around seven main areas of learning:
Communication & Language
Physical Development
Personal, Social & Emotional Development
Literacy
Mathematics
Understanding the World
Expressive Arts and Design
Our Daily Routine
At Bumblebees, each day is designed to give children a balance of freedom, exploration, and meaningful learning. We begin with free play, allowing children to choose activities that spark their curiosity and help them settle into the day at their own pace. Throughout the day, we spend plenty of time exploring the outdoors, giving children the chance to investigate nature, move their bodies, and understand the world around them.
We also include one focused planned activity linked to our monthly theme or subject. This might be a creative project, a sensory experience, a science exploration, or a hands‑on learning task that deepens children’s understanding in fun and engaging ways. Together, these elements create a calm, joyful routine where children feel confident, inspired, and ready to learn.
Working with Trusted Educators
At Bumblebees, we enrich our curriculum by working with trusted external educators, such as dance instructors, music specialists, and early maths providers. These sessions give children exciting opportunities to explore new skills, build confidence, and understand the world in creative, hands‑on ways. We never charge families extra for these experiences — we believe high‑quality learning should be accessible to every child, and it is our responsibility as a setting to provide these opportunities as part of our core curriculum.
"Children's joy and happiness contribute significantly to their learning."
