Our Team and Professional Expertise

Bumblebees is a proud private run setting with over ten years of combined experience across our team. Every member of staff holds at least an NVQ Level 2 qualification in childcare, and all practitioners are fully trained in Paediatric First Aid, ensuring they can respond calmly and confidently in any emergency.

We believe that children thrive when they are supported by adults who are knowledgeable, reflective, and continually growing in their practice. For this reason, we invest heavily in our team’s professional development. Staff are offered a wide range of ongoing learning opportunities, including internal training, external courses, and nationally recognised qualifications.

Our commitment to training ensures that practitioners stay up to date with the latest developments in early education, safeguarding, and childcare practice. This not only strengthens the quality of teaching but also helps children develop a deeper understanding of the world through the guidance of skilled, confident adults who model curiosity, respect, and lifelong learning.

           Our Philosophy

Understanding the World Through Play

At Bumblebees Childminders, our philosophy is grounded in the belief that children learn best when they are encouraged to explore, investigate, and make sense of the world around them. We create an environment where children can discover how things work, notice changes, ask questions, and build meaningful connections with people, places, and nature.

We provide rich opportunities for children to learn through play in both indoor and outdoor environments, allowing them to explore natural materials, observe the seasons, experiment with resources, and develop an early understanding of their community and the wider world. By offering hands‑on experiences, we empower children to become curious thinkers who feel confident, capable, and eager to learn.

Our approach supports children in developing not only knowledge but also emotional intelligence, social skills, and friendships. Through shared experiences, turn‑taking, and collaborative play, children learn about similarities and differences, build relationships, and develop respect for others.

We follow a strong Key Person approach to ensure every child feels safe, valued, and understood. When your child joins us, they are paired with a dedicated member of staff who becomes their secure base. This trusted adult supports their emotional wellbeing, helps them settle, and builds a warm, consistent relationship that allows them to explore confidently.

Your child’s Key Person carefully observes their interests, strengths, and next steps, ensuring all activities are meaningful, accessible, and engaging. They also track your child’s progress and share regular updates with you through an online learning journal or diary, helping you stay connected to your child’s experiences and development each day.

At Bumblebees, we believe that by nurturing curiosity, encouraging exploration, and supporting strong relationships, we give every child the foundations they need to understand their world and thrive within it.
